Before your first visit
Does any of this cost money?
Most services are free. Tutoring ($20 per class) and summer camp have a fee, and preschool is subsidized. Ask us about financial assistance.
Do I need to speak English?
No. The Community Service Center serves you in English, Spanish, Tagalog, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Our Second Home programs are offered in English and Spanish, and the Healthy Aging Response Team also speaks Tagalog.
Will you ask about my immigration status?
No. We never ask about immigration status.
What if I don't have the documents listed?
Come anyway or call first — case managers can often work with what you have and help you obtain missing documents.
What if I need something not listed here?
Call (650) 301-3300. As a CORE agency, we can refer you to housing programs, shelters, legal aid, health care, and dozens of partner organizations across San Mateo County.
