LaVois joined The Daly City Peninsula Partnership Collaborative as its first Executive Director in November 2008 and brings to the position extensive experience from working with community based nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, diversity awareness projects and philanthropy. LaVois has served as an Executive Director on three previous occasions. He was the E.D. of St. John’s Educational Threshold Center, The BASIC Fund and the Bay Area Independent Schools Coalition. His work experience also includes being an Independent Consultant, the Administrative/Financial Director with the East Bay Conservation Corps and a Program Officer with The California Wellness Foundation. LaVois attended Stanford University and earned an undergraduate degree in English as well as a Masters degree in Administration & Policy Analysis from Stanford’s School of Education. He has a deep-rooted commitment to work on behalf of youth, families and the overall community. His strong interpersonal skills help him to work effectively with diverse staff and with people of varying backgrounds.

Pat joined the partnership as a Program Coordinator in 2000, and is currently the Supervisor for the After School Academic Programs division. Prior to joining the team, Pat worked as a Title 1 Instructional Technician, tutoring students in Math and Reading at John F. Kennedy and Garden Village Schools. Formerly, she was the Northern California Regional Operations Manager with Lifetouch Portraits, Inc. She currently serves on the board for Bayshore Childcare Services, and is a Community Leader with the San Bruno/South San Francisco 4H Youth Development Program. She earned her B.A. degree in Creative Arts Interdisciplinary from San Francisco State University.

Kate has been with the Daly City Partnership since 2007. As a program coordinator, she enjoys interacting with many families, students, and others in the Daly City community. Prior to working with the Partnership, Kate worked as an Assistant Director for Palo Alto Community Child Care. She received her BA in Sociology from UC Davis and is currently attending graduate school in the teacher credential program at Notre Dame de Namur University.

Gaby joined the Daly City Partnership as a Program Coordinator in 2007. She has worked as a youth leader with the Daly City Parks & Recreation Department for the past 6 years and has learned so much about the diversity in the Daly City Community. Gaby earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University and currently holds her Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology.

Vicki has been with the Partnership since 2002 and helped to develop and pilot their highly successful After School Math Intervention program. Recently, she has provided reading and writing instruction as a Literacy Tutor. Since 2007, she has taken over the position of part time Office Administrator for After School Academic Programs. Vicki earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from San Francisco State University and continues with pre-med courses in the pursuit of Medical School.

Sherin joined the Partnership in 2008. She has worked in the Early Childhood field for the last 10 years. She has been an infant/toddler and preschool teacher for many years and moved on to work with teachers to assist them in furthering their education and was an assessor for the Quality Improvement Project through the Preschool For All project, improving the early childhood learning environment. Sherin has her BA in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration on Young Child and Family; she also received her MA in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood in spring 2009. She is currently on the Childcare Partnership committee for Quality Improvement and is a Professional Growth Advisor. She has dedicated herself to serving children and families in the community and looks forward to working with you.

Nely has been with the Partnership since 2002. Nely is originally from Chalatenango, El Salvador, Nely has lived in Daly City for twenty-three years, where she and her husband successfully raised three children in Daly City schools. She knows everything there is to know about Daly City and Our Second Home. Just ask her. You're sure to get a cheerful reply in either Spanish or English.

Regina joined the Daly City Peninsula Partnership in 2006. Regina brings nine years of experience working in Mental Health and has a special interest in disorders related to children. As a therapist she enjoys working collaboratively with clients to help them reach their full potential by becoming aware of their own inner resources and strengths.

Lucia joined the Partnership in 2009. Her past work experiences have given her the opportunity to work with a diverse ethnic population of all age groups in the Bay Area. She is new to the partnership and has a great desire to help those around her, and is looking forward to new experiences working with families and their children.

Sabrina joined the Partnership in 2009 and has recently moved to the Bay Area from Southern California. She has an extensive background working with children and their families. In 1997 Sabrina received her BA in Child Development and Family Studies. Sabrina has worked as a social worker with abused and neglected children and as a service coordinator for developmentally disabled children. She recently received her MS in Educational Counseling, and has worked with students and their parents as a counselor. Sabrina is excited to continue working with children and their families, and working with the community of Daly City.

Paul has been with the Partnership since 2005, he is the current Program Supervisor for the Daly City Community Action Response Team (CART). Paul received his Master Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Administration and Planning from San Francisco State University, and he is responsible for the programmatic oversight of the various program areas under CART. Prior to coming to the Partnership, Paul worked for Human Service Agency of San Mateo County as a CPS Emergency Response Social Worker.

Dr. Erica Britton is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 20712) and founder of The Akiwa Project in both Oakland and Daly City, California where she helps people to live powerfully in the midst of their lives. As a practitioner, Dr. Britton is committed to helping people heal themselves toward wholeness and empower their lives. Dr. Britton uses a variety of interventions that are informed by her client’s cultural, social, and personal contexts. She specializes in concerns related to domestic violence, trauma/PTSD, stress/burn out, and sexual orientation.

Nenah has lived and worked in the Daly City community for the past 13 years. Nenah has an extensive background in working with very diverse cultural and ethnic populations. In addition to her regular duties, Nenah is also responsible for the coordination of the various donations that CART receives and re-distributing them to our partnering agencies within the Community.

Maria E. has been a member of the Community Action Response Team since 2005. She is currently actively involved with the Differential Response Program as a Community Worker. Maria is co-located at the Bayshore Resources Center, and has 5 years of experience providing support services and resources to families in that community.

Clifford is responsible for a variety of projects range from the intake of referrals for the Differential Response (DR) Program to Budget Reconciliation of the annual program budget. Clifford is also charged with the responsibility of developing the Client Management Database that replaced a legacy data system for the DR program.

Denise has an extensive background is Social Services – Specialties being HIV/AIDS, Homelessness, and DV. Denise has worked in the community for over 24 years and is passionate about community organization and development. As part of her community activism, she founded 6th St. Community Fair in San Francisco, which is now an annual event to benefit the homeless in San Francisco.

Genella is a member of the Community Action Response Team as a community worker. She has been working in the Social Service field since 1998 where she began her career as an Ameri-Corp member. She graduated with her BA in Social Welfare in 2001 from UC Berkeley. She has since worked all over the Bay Area assisting individuals and families with reaching their goals.

Maria O has an extensive background in Social Services, especially working with Spanish speaking families. Maria O is an experienced recruiter for foster families, certified interpreter, and holds a Master degree in Multicultural Education. Maria has also been an instructor and taught English as a second language.

Claudia joined CART as a Community Worker in March of 2008, She is passionate about prevention work and has had many years of experience in working with underserved communities within Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Mateo Counties. Claudia also specializes in working with youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
